Although the areas around Malpas are quite well served, the number of home watch co-ordinators in the parish has actually dropped over the last few years. A project to increase the number of home watch co-ordinators is being led by Charles Higgie, who is currently looking for volunteers to cover all streets in the village.
What do you have to do as a Home watch co-ordinator?
- Take lead responsibility for a street or number of streets in the area where you live.
- Introduce yourself to your neighbours; get to know them and understand any safety/security issues they may be concerned about.
- Receive the emails about crime and suspicious activity in the area, and pass on information to any interested neighbours.
- Monitor and report faulty street lights. (Click this link)

Whilst we have a number of HomeWatch co-ordinators in Malpas, we still need extra volunteers for the remaining streets and areas within the village.
